Stevie Nicks talks to CBS about Fleetwood Mac reuniting and touring in 2013

The news will come as a surprise to many fans after drummer Mick Fleetwood dismissed talk of a reunion in March this year.
Fleetwood's Stevie Nicks has confirmed that Fleetwood Mac will reform in 2013 for a live tour. During an interview on Wednesday with US channel CBS, the singer revealed her plans along the band to reunite and tour, soon after she and her bandmate Lindsey Buckingham have finished their respective solo projects. The news will come as a surprise to many fans after drummer Mick Fleetwood dismissed talk of a reunion in March this year.
Nicks' interview focused more on her solo career and her new album. Though it has been years since she first started performing, she said she has not changed much as a person and a performer, and that her decision to pursue a solo career has been a freeing experience for her. Asked about a possible Fleetwood Mac reunion she replied, "Next year, so far. It's the plan because that's what we do. I do my thing. And Lindsey (Buckingham) is out doing his thing now. Everybody's on board." Their last tour as a band was 'Unleashed' in 2009.
The singer's statement marks a turnaround from the band situation outlined by drummer Mick Fleetwood earlier this year. Talking to Playboy in March, he said: "I don't believe Fleetwood Mac will ever tour again, but I really hope we do. We have rehearsed it and prepared for it since 2010. We were supposed to tour in 2011, but we delayed it for a year to allow Stevie Nicks to support her solo record and for Lindsey Buckingham to do the same with his."
Nicks also spoke about the suicide of former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Bob Welch, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest last month (June). "I can't even tell you what in the world would have pushed him to do something that crazy," she said.
Nicks is currently touring the US in support of her seventh solo album, 'In Your Dreams', which was released in May 2011. Fleetwood Mac last toured as a four-piece - Nicks, Buckingham, Fleetwood and bassist John McVie - in 2009. The fifth member of the band's classic 'Rumours'-era lineup, Christine McVie, retired from band duties in 1998.
