Serena Williams plays tennis on water at Tenis Monterrey WTA, Mexico

The 13-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams has now played on every kind of court surface, including water. Williams took part in an exhibition along with Argentine female tennis player Gisela Dulko for the Abierto de Tenis Monterrey WTA event taking place this week in Mexico. Serena enjoyed the practice session on water as she was in good spirit and even danced a bit on the Santa Lucia Riverwalk.

Williams, who was the top seed going into the actual tournament, withdrew at the last minute due to an ankle injury suffered in Brisbane last month. But that didn't stop the American star from flying in to hit a few balls with Dulko on a submerged court in front of a packed crowd.

Currently ranked No. 11, Williams is set to appear next month at the Sony Eriscsson Open event, in Miami.

One year ago, ATP tennis pro Roger Feder and Rafael Nadal took the same tennis session on water at the Doha Qatar Exxon Mobile Open, in the gulf of Doha.
