One year after Fukushima disaster Japan faces nuclear crisis

As previously reported Japan's last nuclear reactors are about to be shut down during the next month, according to The Times. On March 8th only two reactors of Japan's 54 are still running a year after the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami hit Japan's coast and knocked out the power supply to the Fukushima power plant.

That means that Japan will have at least temporarily shut down an industry that once generated a third of its electricity. During the summer, no nuclear reactors will be running. CNBC reported that Japan passed a law last August which would require the power sector to start buying electricity from renewable sources from next month onwards.
