Longtime NRBQ rock drummer, Tom Ardolino died at 56
Rock drummer, Tom Ardolino, best known as member of rock 'n roll band NRBQ (New Rhythm and Blues Quartet) died on January 6th. He was 56.
The band itself made the announcement on Friday, on the Official Facebook page: "Friends, We regret to inform you that Tom Ardolino passed away today. Tom will be missed but his spirit lives on through those who were touched by him."
Joined the band in 1974, after the original drummer Tom Staley left, he had played numerous live shows and featured on 15 studio albums. He released a solo effort in 2004 "Unknown Brain", during NRBQ's hiatus.
Ardolino(born January 12, 1955) was living in Springfield, Massachusetts, at the time of his death. Ardolino was also known as an avid collector of poems, having contributed to the "MSR Madness" series of compilations.
