Machu Picchu - it is ideal to visit the citadel of the Inca Empire in JUNE as the cool weather is perfect for the climb and so you may admire the views. Placed on a mountain ridge above the Urubamba Valley in Peru, Machu Picchu is only 80 kilometres (50 miles) northwest of Cusco and through which the Urubamba River flows. Most archaeologists believe that Machu Picchu was built as an estate for the Inca emperor Pachacuti (1438–1472). Often referred to as the "Lost City of the Incas", it is perhaps the most familiar icon of the Inca World. If you have time, travel to Cusco, the town of festivities (Sun God). Spend some time walking down the stoned roads and in the markets, enjoy a drink at a coffee shop and watch the people passing through. Uluru - Ayers Rock, Australia is also an excellent destination during JUNE. You should not miss an unforgetable visit to the sacred sandstone, situated in the middle of Great Desert Skink. Both Uluru and the nearby Kata Tjuta formation have great cultural significance for the Aṉangu people, the traditional inhabitants of the area, who lead walking tours to inform visitors about the local flora and fauna, bush foods and the Aboriginal dreamtime stories of the area. To enjoy the panorama of Uluru, you should get there around sunset. You need to take the road through the harsh desert with an off road SUV, during which you will be able to discover lot of the desert's beauties. Uluru is listed as a World Heritage Site.
