Jennifer Hudson wins two nods at 2012 NAACP Image Awards in Music
The R&B singer Jennifer Hudson, who recently paid tribute to late Whitney Houston at the 54th Grammy Awards - Sunday, Febuary 12th, won big at the 43rd Annual NAACP Image Awards aired on Friday, February 17th. J-Hud pocketed Outstanding Music Video and Outstanding Album for "I Remember Me".
In the former category, J-Hud beat Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, Beyonce Knowles and Adele. In winning the latter kudo, she once again defeated Jill and Beyonce in addition to besting two other competitors, Chris Brown and Lupe Fiasco. Despite her four nominations, the pop diva Beyonce Knowles missed all of them. Meanwhile, Jill Scott grabbed two prizes out of her four nods, including Outstanding Female Artist. Mary J. Blige received Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration due to her song with Drake "Mr. Wrong".
Other winners include Diggy Simmons and Cee-Lo Green. The young rapper blocked the likes of Mindless Behavior and Wynter Gordon from taking Outstanding New Artist title, while the Goodie Mob star won Outstanding Male Artist over Breezy, Common, Bruno Mars and Anthony Hamilton. It additionally awarded George Lucas with Vanguard Award, and celebrated the life and legacy of Whitney Houston.
