Adam Lambert features OUT cover Elvis Presley lookalike

The American Idol winner Adam Lambert, which on Sunday had a great performance with rock band Queen at the 2011 MTV European Music Awards in Belfast, made up with OUT Magazine's editor Aaron Hicklin for a new project which sets the inclusion of Adam in OUT 100 feature. The annual OUT 100 this year picks a Gavin Bond shot of Adam feature as Andy Warhol's famous print of Elvis Presley made in 1963 "Triple Elvis".

Adam took an interview with the editor about him being a openly gay popstar and his carrer has changed in the past two years.

"I think it's been character building, which is great, and it's definitely put me where I'm at now. I think the hardest thing about being a gay celebrity is that we're in the middle of a social rights movement and it's a very hot topic, so we're at a very pivotal time. Coming out was great, but there are certain issues that always surprise me and I think, Why is this an issue? I live and I've grown up in a space that is very accepting and open-minded; I surround myself socially with people that are artists and very bohemian and I forget sometimes that, OK, we're dealing with mainstream culture now, which does not have the same mentality as I do. I think too that by nature I'm very contrary. If you tell me I can't do something then I'm gonna push back harder and do it. I'm kind of rebellious, but I try to do it with a smile. I'm not a jerk about it. So a lot of what I did at the beginning of my career started to become reactionary. And also, I don't know if I had the best guidance at the time. I was kind of flying solo in many respects, doing what I wanted to do."

Also, recently a lawsuit alleges that Adam was still under contract with another entertainment company when he took the stage on American Idol two years ago, in 2009 and that all his releases after the American Idol violate that contract. According to Hollywood Reporter, Adam was under a Music Services Agreement and a Co-publishing Agreement with a company called Colwel Platinum Entertainment.

Colwel Entertainment released an LP recorded by Adam called 'Beg for Mercy', but reps for Lambert sent takedown notices to Amazon.com to stop selling it nad they got it removed on October 14. Now Colwel Platinum is suing Lambert for making a false claim under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Adam has yet to officially respond to the lawsuit.
