Tame Impala is a band from Perth, Australia, the psychedelic rock project of Kevin Parker. They are signed to Modular Records. The band came to prominence in 2010 with the release of their debut album, Innerspeaker. Their name refers to the impala, a medium sized antelope. They like to see themselves as "a steady flowing psychedelic groove rock band that emphasizes dream-like melody."

The band consists of Kevin Parker (lead guitar and vocals), Dominic Simper (guitar) and Jay Watson (drums and backing vocals, synths), and touring member Nick Albrook becoming full time on bass in 2010 (he played guitar in most shows from late 2008 through 2009, swapping guitar for bass with Dom in 2010).

Their name refers to the impala, a medium sized antelope. Their musical sound draws from a wide range of influences (most notably Cream and Germany’s Colour Haze) and they like to see themselves as “a steady flowing psychedelic groove rock band that emphasizes dream-like melody.”

The band signed a worldwide deal with boutique label Modular Recordings in mid 2008, releasing the self titled EP in late 2008, the single Sundown Syndrome/Remember Me in 2009. Their debut album, “Innerspeaker” was released in 2010, with lead single Solitude is Bliss and second single Lucidity. Their second album has also been reported to be in production with rumors of a release late in 2011. In 2012, the band prepare a new album called Lonerism, and "Apocalypse Dreams" is the first single off it.
