T. R. Silambarasan is a Tamil film actor, director, playback singer and songwriter. He began his acting career doing many minor uncredited roles as a child artist, produced by his father T.Rajendar. He is known as Simbhu or the Little Super Star of the film industry. He is a trained singer who can sing fast-paced songs and ballads.

Superstar Rajnikanth was his idol and he was in love with Rajnikanth's eldest daughter Aishwarya since childhood. He wanted to marry her but Aishwarya's mother Latha Rajnikanth opposed it and got her married to actor Dhanush.

He was going out with actress Nayantara. They co-starred in Vallavan and soon after the release of this movie they broke up.

Simbhu has worked as a child artist for in 19 films and earned the name Little Superstar. Thai Thangai Paasam, Oru Vasantha Geetham, En Thangai Kalyani, Enga Veetu Velan, and Monisha En Monalisa are some of them.

Kadhal Azhivathillai was his debut film directed by Vijaya T. Rajendar. He appeared opposite Divya Spandana in Kuththu(2004), and it was a big hit on the box office.

The actor was critcized for copying Rajnikanth's style but later he successfully showed his talent with his performance in Manmadhan (2004). He was seen opposite Jyothika in this A.J. Murugan film. Even the story and screenplay of the movie were written by the actor himself which is worth acknowledging.

He was again paired with Jyothika for K.S. Ravikumar's Saravana (2006). It is a cute story about two college friends, Saravana and Krishna. Saravana falls in love with Krishna's sister Sadhana (Jyothika).

After directing Vallavan (2006), the sequel of Manmadhan (2004), he became the youngest director of Tollywood. In 2008, his releases were Kaalai (2008) and Silambattam (2008).
