Spencer Johnson is an American football defensive tackle for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. He was originally signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2004.

PRO: Signed by the Bills as a free agent on March 1, 2008 after spending the previous four seasons (2004-2007) with the Minnesota Vikings… Entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Minnesota in 2004.

2009:
* Against NO (9/27), saw significant time in the defensive line rotation and had six tackles, including three solo.
* At MIA (10/4), had four tackles, including three solo, and a tackle for a loss.
* At NYJ (10/18), tallied two tackles and saw significant time on the defensive line after starter Kyle Williams left with an injury.
* Vs. HOU (11/1), started for the first time as a Bill and 10th in his career and tallied five solo tackles.
* Vs. MIA (11/29), tallied five tackles, including four solo, a tackle for a loss, a QB hit and his first sack of the season.
* At KC (12/13), had two tackles, a sack, tackle for a loss and a quarterback hit.
* At ATL (12/27), tallied three solo tackles and blocked a field goal. It was the first blocked field goal by Buffalo since Langston Walker blocked one at MIA (10/26/08).

2007 – VIKINGS
* Played in all 16 games for the first time in his career and had his most productive season with 3.0 sacks, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble
* Notched first sack since his rookie year vs. Atl. (9/9)
* Posted second sack of the season and first career forced fumble at KC (9/23) on the same play
* Registered a third sack of season at NYG (11/25)
* Tallied a career-best five QB pressures vs. Det. (12/2)
* At SF (12/9), posted first career fumble recovery

2006 – VIKINGS
* Matched a season-high with four tackles vs. NYJ (12/17) before suffering an injury which forced him to be placed on injured reserve two days later (12/19)
* Had two tackles and a QB pressure at Buf. (10/1)
* Posted a career-high five QB pressures at Sea. (10/22)
* Had a season-high four tackles, tackle for a loss and a QB pressure at SF (11/5)

2005 – VIKINGS
* Saw action in 10 games, making two starts
* Notched a season-high nine tackles and tied for the team lead with six solo to go along with two QB pressures at Atl. (10/2)
* Missed six games but rebounded with 26 tackles in the final five games
* Led the defensive line with six stops at Det. (12/4), his first action back after a three-game injury absence

2004 – VIKINGS
* Appeared in nine games, making seven starts, and ranked third among linemen with 54 tackles after being inactive for the opening seven games
* Posted a tackle on defense and two special teams stops in first career action at Ind. (11/8)
* At GB (11/14), notched seven tackles to lead Vikings linemen
* Made first career start vs. Det. (11/21), joining TE Richard Owens as the only rookie free agents to start a game for the Vikings in 2004
* Had six tackles to tie for a team-high among lineman vs. Jax. (11/28)
* Recorded first career sack at Chi. (12/5) along with 10 tackles and a stop for a loss

Started 32 of the 49 games he played at Auburn, all over the final 3 seasons… Had career-best 4.5 sacks as a senior… Helped lead team to bowl games in each of his 4 seasons, playing in the Citrus, Peach, Capital One and Music City… Did not redshirt as a freshman, earning spot on Rivals.com True Freshmen All-America team… Started all 13 games as a senior… Helped Auburn defense that ranked #5 nationally in total defense as a senior in 2003… Sacked Florida QB Rex Grossman for a 21-yard loss in SEC Championship game as a freshman in 2000… Graduated with a degree in sociology in December of 2003.

PERSONAL:

While in Minnesota, was one of the team’s community leaders, volunteering time with ACES (Athletes Committed to Educating Students), the Salvation Army, Viking Victory Hospital Visits and the United Way… Helped lead Southern Choctaw High to a pair of Class 2A Alabama state titles… Rated by Tom Lemming among the top 25 LBs in the country… Honorable Mention All-State in basketball. … enjoys fishing and owns a local softball team in his hometown of Waynesboro, MS.
