Sierra Hull is a native of Byrdstown, Tenn. She became well known in bluegrass circles for her skill on guitar and mandolin at age 8 and performed on the Grand Ole Opry with Alison Krauss when she was 11. As a teenager, she joined the Great High Mountain tour with Krauss, Ralph Stanley and others. Hull released her debut album, Secrets, on Rounder Records in 2008. She co-produced the project with Ron Block of Alison Krauss & Union Station. Guests include Dan Tyminski, Barry Bales and Jerry Douglas (also in Union Station), as well as Stuart Duncan, Tony Rice, Jim Van Cleve, Rob Ickes, Chris Jones, Jason Moore, Dennis Crouch, Clay Hess and banjo prodigy Cory Walker.

Sierra Hull started her first year of college in 2009, and is already one of the most celebrated mandolinists in and around bluegrass music. While still in high school she released her debut CD, Secrets, on Rounder Records. On this 2 DVD set Sierra teaches the mandolin solos she plays on Secrets, plus a number of instrumentals she recorded as a pre teen.
