Shawne Williams is an American professional basketball player for the New York Knicks of the NBA. He was originally selected 17th overall in the 2006 NBA Draft out of University of Memphis by the Indiana Pacers.

Williams signed with the Indiana Pacers July 6, 2006. Williams scored 13 points in his NBA debut against the Chicago Bulls on December 11, 2006. He now ranks second among Pacers rookies of all time with points scored in a rookie debut.
On October 10, 2008, Williams was traded to the Dallas Mavericks for Eddie Jones, two second round draft picks and cash.
On January 11, 2010, the Mavericks traded him and Kris Humphries to the New Jersey Nets for Eduardo Najera. Four days later, the Nets waived Williams.
On September 23, 2010, the New York Knicks signed Williams to a 1-year contract.

Having helped lead Memphis to a 33-4 overall record (the best single-season mark in school history) with averages of 13.2 ppg and 6.2 rpg, he was named Conference USA Freshman of the Year and was named to several Freshman All-America teams, including: The Sporting News, CollegeInsider.com, Rivals.com and CollegeHoops.net…he was selected one of seven Diaper Dandies to make an impact in the 2006 NCAA Tournament by Dick Vitale of ESPN.com…in addition, he was named to the All-Conference USA third team and Conference USA All-Freshman Team…after averaging 18.0 ppg and 6.7 rpg in three games, he was selected the Conference USA Tournament MVP…after a 23-point, eight-rebound performance against Houston in the semifinals, he scored 18 points with eight rebounds in the C-USA Championship against Alabama-Birmingham…during the season, he scored 474 points and had 26 double-figure scoring games…he ranked among Conference USA leaders in scoring (11th), rebounding (seventh), free throw percentage (fourth) and blocked shots (fourth)…while leading the conference's freshman in scoring and rebounding, he was second among Conference USA freshmen in steals (1.39 spg) and was fifth in assists (1.86 apg)…while ranking third on the team in scoring (13.2 ppg) and second in rebounds (6.2 rpg), he led the team in free throw shooting percentage at 78.6 percent…he was second on the squad in blocked shots (49)…he posted five double-doubles, including 21 points and 10 rebounds vs. Lamar; 14 points and 11 boards vs. Gonzaga; 13 points and 12 rebounds vs. East Carolina; 21 points and a career-high 14 rebounds vs. Tennessee and 10 points and 12 boards vs. Alabama-Birmingham…he was named Rivals.com National Freshman of the Week in late November following his performance in the NIT Season Tip-Off after averaging 20.5 ppg and 7.5 rpg in games vs. UCLA and Duke…he had his best offensive outing of the season with 26 points in the NIT Tip-Off semifinals against UCLA.
