Franklin De'Sean "Sean" Weatherspoon is an American football outside linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League.

CAREER
* A standout linebacker at the University of Missouri where he started each of his final 41 games.
* Recorded 413 career tackles (240 solo), 12.5 sacks, 43.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions (two re- turned for touchdowns), five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and 17 passes defensed.
* Graduated as the third player in school history to lead the team in tackles three times in a career as his 413 stops rank third in school history and 10th on the Big 12 Conference all-time list.
* As a senior, was voted team captain while earning Butkus Award finalist, Lombardi Award semifinalist and Lott Trophy quarterfinalist honors.
* Named a first-team All-Big 12 selection from 2007-09 as he averaged 132 tackles per season over that time span.
* His 155 tackles in 2008 rank second on the Tigers season-record list, while finishing fifth nationally that season.

2009 SEASON

2008 SEASON
* Started in all 14 games and totaled a career-high 155 tackles, which was the second-highest season total in school history.
* Also contributed with two forced fumbles, three interceptions, 18.5 tackles for loss, seven passes defensed and five sacks.
* Named an All-America second-team choice by The NFL Draft Report, adding third-team accolades from Rivals.com and the Associated Press.
* Earned first-team All-Big 12 accolades and was named the Alamo Bowl Defensive MVP.
* Was the Lott Trophy National Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Illinois (8/30) where he totaled nine tackles and two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown.
* Earned the team’s Hammer Award and was named Missouri’s Linebacker of the Year.
* For the second consecutive week, returned an interception for a touchdown (65 yards) while adding six tackles and one sack against Southeast Missouri (9/6).
* Totaled a career-high 20 tackles against Buffalo (9/20).

2007 SEASON
* Started in all 14 contests and recorded 130 tackles, one fumble recovery, two forced fumbles,9.5 tackles for loss, eight passes defensed and three sacks.
* Was an All-Big 12 first-team selection by the Associated Press, San Antonio Express-News and Rivals. com, adding second-team honors from the league’s coaches.
* Named the team’s "Linebacker of the Year" while winning the Hammer Award.
* His 120 tackles rank 12th on the school’s season- record list as he finished fourth in the conference with an average of 9 tackles per game.
* Tallied 12 tackles and two sacks at Kansas State (11/17).

2006 SEASON
* Played in 12 games as a freshman and contributed with 17 tackles and one tackle for loss.
* In his collegiate debut against Murray State(9/2), finished with five tackles and one blocked punt that went out of the end zone for a safety.
* Named Missouri’s "Special Teams Player of the Year".

PERSONAL

* Attended Jasper High School and was named the Texas District 22-3A Player of the Year as a senior after recording 98 tackles, eight tackles for loss, four sacks and two interceptions.
* Added second-team all-state honors while competing as a receiver. Finished with 27 catches for 428 yards and seven touchdowns.
* Was named a first-team all-district selection as a junior and was chosen as the Class 22-3A Defensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore.
* Was an all-state selection in track and an all-district honoree in basketball.
* Cousin of former WNBA star, Teresa Weatherspoon.
