Nick Mangold life and biography

Nick Mangold is an American football center with the New York Jets, drafted 29th overall in the 2006 NFL Draft out of Ohio State University.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

◊ Started all 48 games and one postseason game in his first three seasons.

◊ Mangold and his wife, Jenny, were married in April 2007.
◊ Grew up in Centerville, OH with Bucs’ K Mike Nugent and Packers’ LB A.J. Hawk, and all three attended Ohio State… Also from Centerville: ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit, former Eagles defensive lineman Andy Harmon and actor Gordon Jump.
◊ Earned three letters in wrestling and two in track (shot put).
◊ Appeared on Rachael Ray Show Super Bowl week in 2009 as part of a cooking competition in which he made chili.
◊ One of the Jets’ spokesmen for annual Taste of the NFL in New York City, to help raise money to fight hunger in the New York metropolitan area the past two seasons.
◊ Participated in Atlantic Health Jets Training Center ground-breaking in 2007.
◊ Hosted the NFL’s “Take a Player to School” 2008 winners announcement and attended Veterans Memorial Elementary School in Union City, NJ in Dec. 2008 with student Donovan Sanchez.
◊ Helped raise money and provide holiday cheer for terminally ill children at the Marty Lyons Foundation Holiday Party in 2006.
◊ Nick is the oldest of four, with three younger sisters…His sister Holley was an offensive lineman at Archbishop Alter HS, the first girl to play on the line in an Ohio Division III high school football game, and is a champion powerlifter…Nick and Holley appeared on “The Today Show” before the start of the 2007 season.
