A member of the Crimson Tide’s 2009 National Championship team while blocking for Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram.
As a starter, recorded 264 knockdown blocks,39 touchdown-resulting blocks and 18 downfield blocks.
2009 SEASON
Started in all 14 contests and was a first-team All-America selection by the American Football Coaches Association, Walter Camp and the Associated Press, adding second-team honors from The NFL Draft Report.
A unanimous All-SEC first-team choice.
Named the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week for his performance against Mississippi State (11/14).
Registered a career-high 98 knockdown blocks and 16 touchdown-resulting blocks.
Paved the way for Alabama to rank tied for 12th in the nation in rushing (215.1 yards per game) and fourth in the SEC in total offense (403.0 yards per game).
Cleared rushing lanes for the Crimson Tide to produce a 100-yard rusher in 10 games.
