Mike Jenkins life and biography

Mike Jenkins is an American football cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Cowboys 25th overall in the 2008 NFL Draft.

PRO:
Mike Jenkins enters his third pro season and his second as the undisputed starter at right cornerback after earning the job with his play early in the 2009 season. One-of-two first round draft picks (25th overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys, Jenkins was eased into the lineup during his rookie season due to injuries to Terence Newman and the mid-season suspension of Adam Jones. In 2009 he was given the opportunity to claim a starting spot in the Dallas defense after Anthony Henry was traded to Detroit for Jon Kitna. The 2010 season will feature both Jenkins and Newman fresh off Pro Bowl appearances in the defensive backfield.

2009:
cNamed the starting right cornerback heading into Week 4 after a training camp battle with Orlando Scandrick. Started 15-of-16 games, as well as the team's two playoff games while earning his first career Pro Bowl berth.
# Led the team with career-highs in interceptions (five) and pass breakups (23), while also posting a career-best 60 tackles - good for 10th on the club.

# As a rookie, played in 14 games with three starts to record 22 tackles, an interception that he returned for a touchdown and six pass breakups.

# Notched his first career tackle and pass breakup against Philadelphia (9/15).
# Posted three tackles at Green Bay (9/21).

# In 2002 named first-team Class 3A all-state and selected by the Sarasota Herald Tribune as its Defensive Player of the Year after recording 42 tackles, two interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, two blocked punts and two blocked field goals.
# Also played running back and led the team with 859 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2002.
