Melissa Payne Baker life and biography

Melissa Payne Baker is an American fine artist. Growing up in a family of artists in Mississippi, creativity was a part of her life from an early age. Her Mother likes to say that they have paint running through their veins, not blood. In Melissa's case the paint runs thick!
With a degree in marketing from the University of Mississippi and a passion for interior design, her interests mesh together well. Melissa has perfected various color, medium and texture techniques to create her individual style shown in her work. She is known for her striking color palettes and thick texture.

Melissa has been in many publications including Creative Loafing, Cobb Life, Skirt Atlanta and Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles. She has been recognized as a featured artist at the Atlanta Symphony Decorators' Show House 2008-2010, Trinity Spotlight on Art at Saks Fifth Avenue 2010-2011 to the High Museum of Art and the Huntsville Museum of Art. Melissa teaches her painting techniques in workshops in the Atlanta area. She also participates in many showings, auctions and private school fundraisers around the Southeast.
