Mauricio Isla (born 12 June 1988) is a Chilean footballer who can play in numerous positions, including right, centre, and left back as well as a winger or centre midfielder for Italian Serie A team Udinese and for the Chilean national team.

Isla can best be described as a ball of energy who is at home anywhere on the field of play, though he is at his most effective rampaging forward from wide-midfield areas.

The turning point of his career was the 2007 World Under-20 championships in Canada, where he literally carried the Chileans to third-place. In that tournament, he was found at full-back, in wide and central midfield and up front. Udinese signed him from Universidad Catolica soon after.

He made his full international debut in a friendly with Switzerland in September 2007 and will benefit greatly from the experience of taking part in his first World Cup finals.
