• In 2007 with San Francisco, started all 16 games for second straight season and posted a career-high 100 tackles to go along with three sacks and four passes defensed.
• In 2004 with Baltimore, finished third on team with 92 tackles, a career-high 5.5 sacks, one forced fumble and seven passes defensed.

• Douglas established the Marques Douglas Foundation in 2004 to mentor students in academics, athletics and social issues. The foundation also works with various church and after school programs in North Carolina and beyond. He has hosted the Marques Douglas Foundation youth football camp in his hometown of Greensboro, N.C., for several years.

• The Greensboro, N.C., native was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Baltimore Ravens on April 23, 1999.
• Waived by the Ravens on Sept. 5, 1999 and signed to the team’s practice squad two days later.
• Signed to the active roster by the Ravens on Dec. 21, 1999.
• Waived by the Ravens on Aug. 27, 2000 and was claimed off waivers by the New Orleans Saints on Aug. 28, 2000.
• Waived by the Saints on Sept. 14, 2000 and was signed to the team’s practice squad a day later.
• Signed to the Saints’ active roster on Sept. 19, 2000 and appeared in one game before being placed on the injured reserve on Oct. 12, 2000.
• Re-signed by the Saints as a free agent on April 5, 2001.
• Waived by the Saints on Sept. 3, 2001 and signed to the team’s practice squad a day later.

• Named first-team All-MEAC conference in 1997 while recording 69 tackles and five sacks.
• Received the inaugural Buffalo Soldier Award at Howard University, an honor given to a player who displays courage, honesty, is a true student-athlete and exemplifies the skills and will to make it both on and off the field.
• Graduated from Howard with degree in human development and minor in administration of justice (pre-law).
PERSONAL:
• Married to Sparkle and the couple has two daughters, Zahra and Cadence. The family splits time between Charlotte, N.C., and Nashville.
• Attended Dudley (Greensboro, N.C.) High School and lettered in football, track and basketball.
• Voted by Ravens teammates as the 2003 Ed Block Courage Award winner.
• Following the 2006 season, traveled on a goodwill trip with NFL alumni and cheerleaders to visit troops in Afghanistan.
• While with San Francisco, spent each Tuesday visiting a juvenile detention center to help kids with their school work and reinforce the importance of education.
