After graduating high school, Mark took a step away from music and joined the U.S. Navy. As he sailed around the world, he enhanced his vocal and writing skills. His dedication to the Navy made him a much stronger person mentally and spiritually. Throughout all of the changes happening in his life, he felt that it was time to find himself. In 1997, Mark departed from the U.S. Navy and began his music career. With all the work he did in his spare time writing songs, this year he finally has the opportunity to bring his songs to life.
He would soon meet his future brother in law Joe Rodriquez and start the Cooke County Line band. Mark and Joe pieced a seven-piece band together and began playing all over Central Texas and the Southern states. He has always wanted to be a Country singer but had no idea at the time his dream would lead him to Nashville, TN where Country music began.
Mark is an accomplished singer and songwriter who currently resides in Longview, TX. He has always been a lover of music from a very young child to chasing the dream today in Music City, U.S.A. Mark recently has been signed to Cotton Valley Records and Management run by Music Row veteran Producers J Gary Smith and John Smith. Together they are currently recording his CVR debut album to come out early next year.
When asked, J Gary Smith comments on Mark were: “It is great to find an artist with such a natural country voice as Mark has making producing great country records fun and enjoyable. It is a blessing that we are the guys that get to start his career”
Mark was excited to release his debut single, “Can’t Cheat in A Small Town” to country music listeners in the Summer of 2010. His style is sure to awe fans and bring an introduction to his upcoming debut album releasing early 2011.
With his dream coming true, Mark's family and friends support him in every way possible. Through all the good times and bad, he still is the same little boy from East Texas who had a dream. With the grace of God, Mark continues to move forward in a career he has such passion for.
