Atlanta Hawks (2007–2010)

CAREER:

West played with the Atlanta Hawks during the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons. Following his stint with the Red Claws to start the 2009-10 season, West resigned with Atlanta for the remainder of the 2009-10 season. While with the Hawks, he played in 156 games over 3 seasons, including 6 starts. He averaged 4.4 minutes and .8 points per game over that time. He played with the Boston Celtics during the 2010 preseason, but was cut prior to the start of the season. He subsequently returned to the Maine Red Claws, the Development League affiliate of the Celtics for the start of the 2010-11 season.

On March 24, 2011, West asked to be waived by the Red Claws so that he could return to Atlanta to care for a sick family member. He was subsequently waived. He played in 53 games over two seasons with the Red Claws. In 2010-11, West averaged 34 minutes per game over 43 games and averaged 13.7 points and 2.9 assists. The Red Claws retained the rights to West should he seek to return to the NBA Development League.

On March 31, 2011 the New Jersey Nets signed him to a 10-day contract. On April 4, 2011 the New Jersey Nets signed him for the remaining three games of the season.

COLLEGE:

West went to Georgia Tech and joined as a walk on his freshman year and red-shirted. He was named a team captain just before his senior season started. While at Georgia Tech, West won the 2007 college slam dunk championship. West also earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management and Economics.
