Telegraph as a senior defensive lineman … Selected to play in the Georgia-Florida All-Star Game … Recorded 76 tackles, eight sacks and two fumble recoveries as a senior … Also started at tight end and had 25 receptions for 307 yards and a touchdown … Also played basketball … Member of National Honor Society … Paid for his mother, Thelma McDonald, to attend nursing school … Full name: Marcus Lavar Stroud.
COMMUNITY:
Marcus participated in the 2009 Community Ticket Donation Program by donating 20 season tickets to the Buffalo Public Schools. Over 200 people were part of Stroud's Crowd and attended Buffalo Bills home games where they were also treated to food and beverage coupons compliments of Marcus.
Marcus has been very active in the community throughout his career in Jacksonville and Buffalo. The Marcus Stroud Foundation is dedicated to supporting children who face significant physical, mental and financial challenges in a single parent home. The goal of the foundation is to help enhance and enrich the lives of disadvantaged children by establishing various academic and athletic programs otherwise unavailable to them. Marcus participates in a number of community events throughout the year on behalf of the Marcus Stroud Foundation. Each year, Marcus also hosts the Marcus Stroud Pro-Bowl Camp for Kids youth football camp which is a free youth camp where kids are taught what is takes to become a professional football player.
