Mahi Gill is the new age Paro in the new age Dev D.
Mahi Gill or Mahie Gill is an Indian actress of Bollywood industry. She is most known for her role of Paro in Anurag Kashyap's critically acclaimed Hindi film Dev.D, a modern take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's Bengali novella Devdas for which she also won the 2010 Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. She started her career in Punjabi Films before making a debut in Bollywood with Dev D.
2007 Mahi Gill was seen in Mitti Wajaan Mardi, a romantic drama, about a Punjabi family that is separated when the father moves overseas and gets married a second time to get American citizenship.
2008 She acted in Sameep Kang’s Chakk De Phatte, a Punjabi comedy about four Punjabi lads woo-ing a NRI girl.
2009 Mahi landed the role of Paro in the modern day adaptation of Devdas called Dev D directed by Anurag Kashyap. Her other release is Kashyap’s Gulaal set in Rajasthan.
