Leigh Lezark is one-third of the New York City based DJ trio, The Misshapes. Alongside Geordon Nicol and Greg K, Leigh and The Misshapes have become New York style icons, known for their ability to fuse fashion, music, art, and photography in their own distinctive style.
The MisShapes are a New York City based DJ trio comprising Leigh Lezark, Geordon Nicol, and Greg Krelenstein.
MisShapes was a cult club night in New York City which started in February 2004 at the now defunct Luke and Leroy in the West Village before moving to Don Hill's in Soho. MisShapes stopped running as a club night in 2007, since which time The MisShapes have become a sought after DJ act managed by A & M Entertainment, performing mainly at fashion, art, music events.
In August 207 The MisShapes Book was published by MTV Press. It's a style book that features a collection of people shot at The MisShapes club night. The infamous white wall background was in the basement of Don Hills, and people used to go and get their photograph taken after going to the cloakroom.
Lezark was born and raised in New Jersey. She moved to New York City to attend Hunter College and two weeks after beginning school met Geordon and Greg K. They started The Misshapes. The DJ trio toured the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America. They have also served as supporting DJs for some of music's biggest stars, including Courtney Love, The Killers, Debbie Harry and Bloc Party.
Leigh has recently been signed to be a brand ambassador for Charles Worthington's hair care range Front Row. (September 2009)
