Kerry Rhodes is an American football safety for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League. He was drafted by the New York Jets in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played college football at Louisville.

Pro Career:
Originally selected by the New York Jets in the fourth round (123rd overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft, appeared in 80 games (78 starts) in five seasons. Signed a five-year contract extension with the Jets on 4/10/08 and was traded to the Cardinals on 3/6/10 in exchange for Arizona’s fourth-round selection in 2010 and seventh-round selection in 2011.

2009: Part of Jets defensive unit that finished the season ranked No. 1 in the NFL in total defense for the first time in franchise history … started 14 of 16 regular season games and all three postseason contests … led the team with nine tackles and posted two QB hits and one pass defensed vs. NE (9/20); part of a defensive unit that did not allow an offensive TD for the second consecutive game … had seven tackles, a QB hit and a pass defensed while holding the Saints top ranked offense to just 10 points @ NO (10/4) … served as a game captain, recording two tackles and a QB hit while helping hold the Dolphins offense to just 104 net yards, the fourth-lowest total in franchise history vs. Mia (11/1) … for the first time in his career, did not start, but saw action at safety and recorded his first multi-INT game vs. Car (11/29), intercepting Jake Delhomme twice … returned to the starting lineup and recorded his third INT in three games @ TB (12/13) while also tallying three tackles and a pass defensed … recovered a fumble and returned it 44 yards, setting up a Jets TD on the ensuing drive in the regular season finale vs. Cin (1/3/10) … in his second career postseason game, totaled four tackles in the Wild Card matchup @ Cin (1/9/10) … recorded a postseason career-high seven tackles and sacked QB Philip Rivers in the fourth quarter of the Divisional matchup @ SD (1/17/10); recovered a SD onside kick attempt with 2:12 left in the game … served as game captain and recorded five tackles in the AFC Championship Game @ IND (1/24/10).

2008: Started all 16 games for the Jets for the fourth consecutive season, finishing third on the team with 81 tackles … recorded two INTs, a sack, five passes defensed and two fumble recoveries … named recorded seven tackles and a sack vs. KC (10/26) … recovered his first fumble of the season and returned it 18 yards, setting up a Jay Feely FG vs. Stl (11/9); followed that play by intercepting QB Marc Bulger and returning it a career-long 50 yards, setting up a Jets TD on the ensuing drive … recovered his second fumble of the season @ NE (11/13) … made his 60th career start at safety and registered a season-high nine tackles vs. Den (11/30) … sealed the Jets win with an INT of J.P. Losman with 10 seconds remaining in regulation vs. Buf (12/14).

2007: Led the Jets with five INTs after starting all 16 games for the third consecutive season … also totaled 68 tackles, two sacks, three passes defensed, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery that he returned for his first career TD … recorded his first INT of the season when he stepped in front of a Trent Green pass vs. Mia (9/23) … forced a Brandon Jacobs fumble in the first quarter and returned the fumble 11 yards for his first career TD @ NYG (10/7); also tallied a season-high nine tackles in the game … took down Donovan McNabb for his first sack of the season vs. Phi (10/14) … intercepted a Ben Roethlisberger pass in the Jets OT win vs. Pit (11/18) … picked off a Tony Romo pass and returned it 22 yards @ Dal (11/22) … had four tackles, two passes defensed and intercepted a John Beck pass and returned it 36 yards @ Mia (12/2) … stepped in front of a Derek Anderson pass at the end of the first quarter vs. Cle (12/9), becoming the first Jet since Otis Smith (1995) to record an INT in four consecutive games … sacked Brodie Croyle for an eight-yard loss in an OT victory vs. KC (12/30).

2006: Started all 16 regular season games and the postseason matchup for the Jets, recording a team-high four INTs, 92 tackles, 13 passes defensed and five sacks … five sacks were the most by a Jets DB in franchise history … picked off a Kerry Collins pass on the first play from scrimmage in the second half of the season opener @ Ten (9/10) … recorded a strip-sack of Tom Brady that was recovered by the Jets and led to a TD on the ensuing possession vs. NE (9/17) … named AFC Defensive Player of the Week after recording 10 tackles and two strip sacks that led to turnovers, one of which was returned for a TD by LB Victor Hobson @ Buf (9/24) … led the team with two special teams tackles and recovered an onside kick attempt to help preserve the victory vs. Det (10/22) … tied for the team lead with 11 tackles and picked off David Carr vs. Hou (11/26) … recorded a team-high seven tackles vs. Buf (12/10) … recorded six tackles and a pass defensed in the Wild Card loss @ NE (1/7/07).

2005: Posted a career-high 108 tackles and recorded a sack and INT while starting all 16 games during his rookie campaign … in his first career game, and start, totaled seven tackles @ KC (9/11) … notched the first two passes defensed of his career and for the second-straight week totaled seven tackles vs. Mia (9/18) … recorded his first career INT in just his third career game when he stepped in front of a Byron Leftwich pass vs. Jax (9/25) … posted a career-high 12 tackles, a tackle for loss, and sacked Jake Plummer for a 10-yard loss @ Den (11/10); sack was the first of his career … for the second-straight week, recorded double-digit tackles, leading the Jets defense with 10 tackles vs. NO (11/27) … totaled 11 tackles and two passes defensed in the season finale vs. Buf (1/1/06).

College:
Played in 44 games and made 19 starts in his four-year career at Louisville, finishing with 218 tackles, a sack, 11 INTs, 19 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery … recorded 109 tackles, six INTs (one returned 56 yards for a TD), nine passes defensed two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery while appearing in 12 games (six starts) as a senior in 2004 … started all 13 games as a junior and recorded 82 tackles, a sack, three INTs (one returned for a TD), one blocked kick and five passed defensed … appeared in all 13 games as a reserve safety and key special teams performer as a sophomore in 2002, finishing the season with 18 tackles, an INT and two passes defensed … also blocked a game-winning FG attempt in the final two minutes of regulation at Southern Miss … saw action in six games as a redshirt freshman and finished the season with nine tackles, an INT and three passes defensed.
