Jourdan Dunn born on 3 August 1990 in London is a British fashion model. She wasn’t discovered until 2006 at the age of 16. A scouting agent saw her while Dunn was out shopping with a friend in Primark, and shortly thereafter, Dunn signed with Storm Management. She is also represented by Women and Nathalie.

Dunn stands 1.78 metres tall, has black hair and brown eyes. Her measurements are 83-60-89, and she wears a 36 dress. Dunn is noted for being the first black model to appear on the Prada runway for more than ten years. Dunn has been credited for helping shift the modelling industry towards a more diverse look. Among her notable features are her great smile and her long legs.

On the Runway

Dunn made her fashion debut in 2007 when she appeared in several different shows for Marc Jacobs, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Ralph Lauren in both New York and Milan. Later that year, she stepped out on the runway for Alexander McQueen and for Hermes in their spring shows in Paris. 2008 saw Dunn closing the Duro Olowu show in February and then becoming the first black model for Prada in more than ten years. Later in 2008 she did couture shows for Givenchy and for Jean Paul Gaultier. This was followed by shows for Ossie Clark, Rodarte, and Alexander McQueen, in which she closed each show. In September of 2008, she opened the Pucci show which featured Matthew Williamson’s final collection. She continued her runway success in 2009 with shows for Chanel, Givenchy, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Dior, Jason Wu, Oscar de la Renta, Issa, Vivienne Westwood, Barbie, Thakoon, and more. She opened or closed many of these shows. Spring of 2009 was a very busy time for Dunn—she walked in more than 90 different shows.

While she has done a lot of runway work, Dunn has also appeared in many ads, in magazine editorials, and on many covers. Her first photo shoot was with David Sims for Benetton, and that was followed by appearances in Allure, British Vogue (in which she was named a new star), Dazed & Confused, and a feature on Style.com as one of the top ten newcomers in the British modelling world. She was also showcased in editorials for French Vogue, i-D, appeared on the cover of Italian Vogue, and was photographed for Topshop. Late 2008 saw Dunn return to Benetton as one of their faces. She then went on to round out the year with cover appearances on Pop, i-D, British Vogue, and French Elle. Her 2009 publication appearances include a month in the French Vogue calendar, editorials in Vogue, Japanese Vogue, Italian Vogue, Russian Vogue, and W.

Dunn has been recognized multiple times for her beauty and work as a model. In addition to being asked to open and close many shows and her magazine cover appearances, she was named as a top newcomer several times early in her career. In 2008, the British Fashion Council nominated her for the prestigious Model of the Year award, an award she would win in November of that year.

Personal
In the July 2009 issue of Vogue, it was reported that Dunn was expecting her first child in December. While the father’s name has been kept out of the press, it has been confirmed that it is Dunn’s boyfriend of several years.
