Joey Porter is an American football linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round of the 1999 NFL Draft. He played college football at Colorado State.

• Signed a three-year contract with the Cardinals on 3/19/10 as a free agent.
• A four-time Pro Bowl selection (2002, ’04, ’05, ’08) and four-time All-Pro, Porter has appeared in 168 games (151 starts) in his 11 NFL seasons.
• Was named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2000’s as a linebacker.
• With 92.0 sacks in his career, trails only Jason Taylor (127.5) in sacks among active players and his 90.0 sacks over the last 10 seasons (2000-‘09) trail only Taylor’s 111.0.

His 17.5 sacks established a Dolphins franchise record for sacks by a linebacker and ranked third all-time in franchise history behind Bill Stanfill (18.5, 1973) and Jason Taylor (18.5, 2002).
• In 2002, became the first player in the NFL since sacks became an official statistic in 1982 to record eight sacks and four INTs in a season.
• Has recorded at least 2.0 sacks in a game 20 times during his career, including six games with at least 3.0 sacks and two games with 4.0 sacks.
• Was named AFC Defensive Player of the Month twice (October-2008; October-2000) while also being named AFC Defensive Player of the Week four times (2005-Week 16; 2004-Week 8; 2002-Week 2; 2001-Week 6).
• His 60.0 sacks as a member of the Steelers rank fourth in franchise history behind Jason Gildon (77.0), L.C. Greenwood (73.5) and Joe Greene (66.0).

College:
A four-year letterman at Colorado State, began his career as an H-Back before being moved to the defensive line for his junior season (1997) … in two seasons on defense, collected 88 tackles, 28 stops for loss and 22.0 sacks … was a CSU teammate of LB Clark Haggans … as a senior in 1998, was a first-team All-Western Athletic Conference selection and a third-team All-America pick when he amassed 53 tackles and a school single-season record of 15.0 sacks, which also represented the third-highest total in Division 1-A that year.
