Jennifer Egan is a native from Chicago which is known as a fiction novelist and short story writer who now resides in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Egan's novel A Visit From the Goon Squad won the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction.

Born in Chicago to a South Side-Irish father and a mother from Rockford, Ill., Egan moved to San Francisco at age 7 with her mother and stepfather after her parents' divorce. "I feel like I'm from both places. Chicago is rusty and crumbling but strong, Midwestern, and San Francisco has such a striking palette, all light and pastels, which has influenced my entry into fiction to be time and place more than people."

Jennifer's works:

Emerald City (short story collection) (1993, UK; released in US in 1996)
The Invisible Circus (novel) (1995)
Look at Me (novel) (2001)
The Keep (novel) (2006)
A Visit From the Goon Squad (novel) (2010)
