Jason Snelling is an American football running back for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League.

Originally selected as a seventh round (244th pick overall) draft choice by Atlanta in 2007.

CAREER
In three seasons with the Falcons, has totaled 170 carries for 718 yards with five rushing yards and 38 receptions for 348 yards and one receiving touchdown. Set a career-high with 147 rushing yards in the 2009 season finale against Tampa Bay (1/3/10).

2009 (FALCONS)
Competed in 14 games, starting in three and totaled 142 carries for 613 yards with four touchdowns and 30 receptions for 259 yards and one score. Recorded 37 rushing yards on six carries and hauled in his first career receiving score on a 10-yard grab against Carolina (9/20). Posted 61 rushing yards on 18 carries with one touchdown at Carolina (11/15) and added 32 receiving yards. Started at running back and registered 25 carries for 76 yards while contributing with a career-high two touchdowns at the New York Giants (11/22). Notched 15 carries for 68 yards against Buffalo (12/27). Recorded a career-high in rushing yards (147) and tied a career-high in attempts (25) at Tampa Bay (1/3) while adding 21 receiving yards.

2008 (FALCONS)
Competed in all 16 regular season contests and Atlanta's Wild Card Playoff game at Arizona. Finished the season with 15 rushes for 62 yards and eight receptions for 89 yards and led the team with 19 special teams tackles. Started his first career game at Carolina (9/28) and hauled in one reception for 11 yards. Tallied 47 rushing yards on eight carries and hauled in one pass for 12 yards at Oakland (11/2) in addition to adding one tackle on special teams. Notched a career-high 31 receiving yards on two catches vs. Carolina (11/23), including a career-long 27-yard reception in the first quarter.

2007 (FALCONS)
In seven games, totaled 13 rushes for 43 yards and his first career touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals. Tallied two carries for 13 yards vs. Tampa Bay (11/18) in his NFL debut. Notched two carries for a career-high 18 yards and his first career NFL touchdown at Arizona (12/23). His first career professional touchdown came on a one-yard plunge in the first quarter.

COLLEGE
In his 267 career rushing attempts at Virginia, was only stopped behind the line of scrimmage 15 times, while 81 of his carries produced first downs. Had key rushing attempts that set up 21 touchdown drives and 11 more that resulted in field goals. 34 of 75 receptions were good for first downs. His average of 5.3 yards per rush ranked fifth on the school's all-time rushing record list when he graduated, topped only by John Papit (1947–50), Terry Kirby (1989–92), Barry Word (1982–85) and Nikki Fisher (1988–91). His 325 rushing yards in 2005 were the most by a Virginia fullback in a season since Charles Way totaled 517 yards in 1994. Super Sleeper Team and All-Atlantic Coast Conference second-team selection by The NFL Draft Report in 2006. PERSONAL
Attended L.C. Bird High School (Richmond, Va.). Four-time all-district tailback and was named to the all-region team three times. Gained over 3,300 yards rushing during his career, including 1,444 yards and 14 touchdowns during his senior season. Earned Group AAA All-State honors. Graduated in May 2006 with a degree in Anthropology.
