Hamza Muhammad Abdullah is an American football safety for the Arizona Cardinals .

2009:
After spending the preseason with Cleveland, was released on 9/5 and signed with Arizona on 12/22 … played in one regular season game and both postseason games for the Cards … inactive vs. StL (12/27) … in his first career game as a member of the Cardinals, finished second on the team with eight tackles and one special teams tackle in the regular season finale vs. GB (1/3/10) … played in first career postseason game and registered one tackle in the Wild Card matchup vs. GB (1/10/10) … saw increased playing time after starting SS Antrel Rolle left the game in the 1st quarter with a head injury and recorded one tackle and one pass defensed in the Divisional game @ NO (1/16/10).

2008:
Began the season with Denver where he appeared in one game and was inactive for two others … waived by the Broncos on 9/23 … signed by Cleveland on 10/6 and was inactive for the final 12 games of the season.

2007:
Started a career-best eight of the final 11 games at SS for Denver, registering career-highs with 48 tackles, seven passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery … suffered a hip injury vs. Oak (9/16) that forced him to be inactive for the next five weeks … returned from hip injury and led the secondary with seven tackles @ Det (11/4) … recorded a career-high nine solo tackles and two pass breakups in his first career start @ KC (11/11) … led the secondary with eight tackles vs. Ten (11/19) … registered a forced fumble, fumble recovery, pass defensed and led the secondary with seven solo tackles @ Chi (11/25).

2006:
Played in 11 games during his second season with Denver, finishing fifth on the team with eight special teams tackles … saw action at safety in four games and recorded four tackles … helped set up a TD by forcing an Antonio Cromartie fumble on a kickoff return @ SD (12/10).

2005:
Spent the first eight weeks of the season on Tampa Bay’s practice squad … signed to Denver’s active roster on 11/1 … saw action in one game, recording a special teams tackle @ KC (12/4).

College:
Started 11 of 39 career games at Washington State (2001-04), totaling 104 tackles, one sack, one INT, nine pass breakups and four forced fumbles … as a senior, started all 11 games at free safety, registering a career-high 70 tackles, 44 solo tackles, one sack, four forced fumbles and one INT … awarded Defensive Player of the Game three times as a senior … earned a degree in Business Management.

Personal:
Born in Los Angeles, CA … earned two varsity letters as a safety at Pomona (CA) High School … as a senior, was an all-league selection after he recorded 115 tackles, nine forced fumbles, and three INTs … named to the All-Inland Empire team … one of 12 children … brother, Husain, also played safety at Washington State and plays for the Minnesota Vikings … along with wife, Alexa, they have a daughter, Layla Sa’eeda Abdullah and a son, Aqil Hamza Abdullah.
