Fred Davis life and biography

Fred Davis served as a backup tight end and special teams player until midway through the 2009 season when he took over for an injured Chris Cooley. He started 10 games down the stretch and finished third on the team, in receptions (48) and receiving yards (509). He led the team in touchdown catches with six. At USC, he was the recipient of the 2007 Mackey Award as the nation’s top college tight end. His 117 career receptions, 13 touchdowns and 1,408 receiving yards are all Southern California records for tight ends. In his four years as a Trojan, Southern California posted a 46-5 record and won a NCAA National Championship in 2004.
