Pozo began his playing career with Godoy Cruz in 1995, he also played for Huracán, Talleres and Instituto de Córdoba before joining Colón de Santa Fe in 2008.
Argentina boss Diego Maradona has had plenty of games to test out his back-up 'keepers in the last couple of years and Pozo emerged from the pack to claim one of the spots in his World Cup squad list.
He is viewed as the third choice, but when Maradona is calling the shots everyone in this Argentina squad would be wise to be ready for action at a moment's notice. After all, surprise team changes have been the forte of the maverick Argentine legend during his time as national team boss.
Pozo lists Huracan, Talleres and Instituto among his former clubs and he made his international debut against Panama last year. "It's a relief to make the final squad because no one was certain which way our coach would go," states Pozo. "There were plenty of options, but I'm honoured that Maradona picked me."
On May 20, 2009 Pozo made his debut with Argentina in a 3–1 friendly match victory against Panama. The Argentine team was made up of players based in the Primera División Argentina. He is also with the 23 traveling to South Africa for the World Cup 2010.
