Curtis Taylor life and biography

With impressive size for a safety, Curtis Taylor adds depth and explosive­ness at both safety positions, while serving as a contributor on special teams.

Originally the first of two seventh-round (219th overall) draft choices by SF in 2009.

•Curtis has eight brothers and sisters. His two brothers, Brandon and Jhrryn, followed in their brother’s footsteps and now play at LSU.
•Curtis was raised in the small town of Franklinton, LA, that has a popula­tion of just under 4,000 people. He recently put on the Curtis Taylor Football Camp with teammate Ricky Jean Francois.

2009:
•Made his 49ers debut vs. Atl. (10/11) and registered 2 special teams tackles.
•Tied for the team lead with 3 special teams tackles at Hou. (10/25).
•Made his debut on defense, recording an assisted tackle at GB (11/22).
•Placed on IR on 12/1/09 following a hip strain suffered vs. Jax. (11/29).

COLLEGE:

•In 50 games (22 starts) at LSU, recorded 112 tackles, 2 sacks, 11 PDs, 5 INTs and 1 FR. Became a starter at safety following his sophomore year upon the departure of first-round draft pick Laron Landry. Played in 13 games (9 starts) in 2008, recording 43 tackles, 1 sack, 3 PDs, 2 INTs and 1 FR. In 2007, helped LSU to a national championship by registering 54 tackles, 1 sack, 6 PDs and 3 INTs. As a backup in 2006, tallied 12 tackles and a PD after play­ing in 11 games with 3 tackles and a PD as a redshirt freshman.

PERSONAL:

•Played safety, quarterback and wide receiver at Franklinton (LA) HS, finish­ing his senior season with 28 recepts., 562 rec. yds. and 6 TDs. All-district selection and led his team to a state regional appearance.
