Crazy Mohan, born Mohan Rangachari, is a popular Tamil comedy actor and writer. He started his career as stage play writer with his own drama troupe 'Crazy creations' which is popular for its comedy stage plays in Chennai since 1970's.

He was a student at the College of Engineering, Guindy, where he graduated as a Mechanical Engineer in 1973. He wrote his first drama at College of Engineering, Guindy, when he was in the 4th year in 1972. His guide was his classmate S. Ravi, who was the President of Tamil Manram. He founded the popular drama troupe 'Crazy Troupe' in 1973 and was its leader and president. Under Mohan, the Crazy Troupe performed over 200 plays across Tamil Nadu, most of the themes involving satire and witty dialogue. The troupe's name changed in 1976 to 'Crazy Creations' and in 1982 to 'Crazy Dreams'. In 1988, Mohan founded the prominent production company 'Crazy Productions'. However the Crazy troupe continued to perform until 1994, when they were finally disbanded. Mohan's troupe often competed with S. V. Shekhar's Mylapore Boys Troupe.

In addition to dramas and teleserials, he has also worked in a number of comedies, like Michael Madana Kama Rajan, Apoorva Sagodharargal, Avvai Shanmughi and Panchathanthiram. He has played a small role in each of these films, and he has acted or written dialogue for over 70 films including Arunachalam (starring Rajnikanth).

His brother Maadhu Balaji plays the hero in all his dramas.

His first play was Crazy Thieves in Paalavakkam, through this play the title Crazy fitted and he is called as Crazy Mohan.

His plays were later telecasted in TV channels making him popular among Tamil audiences. His contributions extended to Tamil film industry and he has written dialogues for dozens of Tamil movies. His dialogues to actor Kamal Hassan movies have worked out well in the past.

He holds M.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from Guindy Engineering college, Anna university. He resigned from TVS group Limited to continue his career in stage plays and TV. His brother Maadhu Balaji is the hero in all the dramas. All the dramas of crazy will have Madhu, Cheenu, Janaki, Mythili and Ramanujam (Character Names). He is famous for spontaneity.
