Christian Kane was born in Dallas and lived in several towns before his family settled in Norman, Okla.
Mesmerized by films and music, he was in college when he moved to Los Angeles to seek a career in the entertainment industry. He landed a job as an assistant at an entertainment company by telling them he would deliver scripts if they would consider him for acting and singing projects.
He quickly went from employee to client when he landed his first big job acting and singing as the lead in MGM's television series, Fame L.A.. The show, based on the hit movie and television series, originally cast Kane as a comedian. After hearing him sing, the show's producers rewrote the role for him to be a singer. In L.A., he and songwriting partner Steve Carlson founded a band they called Kane. Performing at local clubs, the group gained recognition for their songwriting and high-energy shows. After gaining airplay on country radio stations in the L.A. area and winning a major talent competition, he and Carlson began making regular trips to Nashville to concentrate on songwriting. Kane continued to find acting roles, including a starring role in the TNT series, Leverage. His TV credits also include the series Close to Home and the mini-series Into the West. His film roles include Taxi, Summer Catch and Secondhand Lions. Juggling his screen and music careers, he signed a songwriting deal with EMI Music Publishing and has collaborated with some of Nashville's top songwriters. He also signed. a deal as an artist with Bigger Picture Group. His first album is set for release in fall 2010.
The video for the first single, The House Rules, was directed by Academy Award-winning actor Timothy Hutton, another star of Leverage.
