TRANSACTIONS
Originally a 2nd-round (39th pick overall) draft choice by SF in 2008.
•Chilo wasn’t planning on entering the NFL Draft in 2008, but a tumor discovered in his mother’s stomach prompted him to enter early so he could help with her medical costs.
•Idolized former 49er Larry Allen and models his play after the All-Pro guard when he switches into his self-proclaimed “Beast Mode” on the football field.
2009 (San Francisco):
•Had two critical blocks that helped spring RB Frank Gore on each of his record-setting 79- and 80-yd. TD runs vs. Sea. (9/20). The offense finished with a season-high 246 yds. rushing on the day.
•Part of an offensive line that did not allow a sack on QB Alex Smith on any of his 41 attempts vs. Jax (11/29). It marked the first time the 49ers did not give up a sack since 11/10/08, at Arz. (QB Shaun Hill – 40 attempts).
2008 (San Francisco):
•Saw action in 8 games, starting the final 6 contests at right guard.
•Inactive Games 1-2, and was active for first time in career vs. Det. (9/21), but did not play. Inactive Games 4-8.
•Played in first career game at Arz. (11/10) as he rotated at RG with starter G Tony Wragge. Made a key block on LB Karlos Dansby on final play of 1st qtr. that helped spring RB Frank Gore for 20 yds. Was part of an offensive line that did allow a sack in the game.
•Rotated at RG with Wragge vs. StL (11/16).
•Made first NFL start at RG at Dal. (11/23), becoming second member of 49ers 2008 draft class to make a start for 49ers behind Josh Morgan.
COLLEGE
•In 21 games as a starter at Southern California, never allowed a quarterback sack as he delivered 155 knockdowns, including 15 TD-resulting blocks. Started 9 games at right guard as a senior, earning first-team All-American honors. Started 12 games at right guard in 2006 and was named second-team All-American. Appeared in every game as a reserve offensive guard as a redshirt freshman, seeing most of his action on special teams. Redshirted as a freshman after missing all of September following arthroscopic left knee surgery to remove torn cartilage prior to Colorado State game.
