Carson Jones Daly is an American television host. He is the host of NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly, a late-night talk show that began airing on January 7, 2002. Before his role as host of that program, Daly was a VJ on MTV's TRL, and a DJ for the Southern California based radio station KROQ. He has also hosted several notable specials including "Macy's 4th of July Spectacular" on NBC and "NBC's New Years Eve with Carson Daly". He also co-founded an independent record label named 456 Entertainment.
Few celebrities claim a broader omnipresence in the media than former MTV veejay and all-around heartthrob Carson Daly. This quintessential Southern California native shot to fame in the late '90s, initially as the host of the MTV channel's Total Request Live -- a long-running showcase for the most requested music videos of the day, voted on by viewers. In time (around January 2002), Daly left the program and received an offer from NBC to host one of that network's late-late-night talk spots, Last Call with Carson Daly, which premiered to -- and sustained -- excellent ratings, particularly given the limited viewership at that hour and competition from the likes of Craig Kilborn and others. Off-camera, Daly has been romantically linked with Tara Reid (to whom he was engaged for a time) and Jennifer Love Hewitt. In addition to the said television gigs, Daly's resumé sports appearances in such features as the 2001 Josie and the Pussycats (opposite Reid), It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie (2002), and Windy City Heat (2003).
He is now a DJ/talk show host on 97.1 AMP Radio in Southern California. He is the current host of the American version of The Voice, on NBC.
