COMMUNITY:
Brian Moorman is one of the most admired and respected players in the NFL for his dedication to the community. He makes himself available to support the many organizations and agencies involved with the team but on his own he goes above and beyond to help children – especially children facing cancer. In 2003, he established the Brian Moorman PUNT Foundation to support pediatric cancer research, treatment and social programs. A majority of his work is affiliated with Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Carly’s Club, the hospital’s family-centered support group for its patients. Throughout each year, the PUNT Foundation hosts many events to raise awareness to their cause. In 2009, PUNT hosted its annual Black Tie Gala, a Pottery Painting event and their annual PUNT Triathlon.
Brian participated in the 2009 Community Ticket Donation Program by donating 20 season tickets to Carly’s Club. Over 200 people were part of Moorman’s Miracles and attended Buffalo Bills home games where they were also treated to food and beverage coupons compliments of Brian.
In addition, Brian was also a part of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition move in day when the show took over Buffalo’s West Side in November. Brian and his fellow teammates carried in couches, mattresses, tables and chairs to make the family feel at home again. Once the move was complete, Brian hung around on the construction site to sign autographs and pose for pictures with the other volunteers and ABC’s crew!
Also, in 2009, Brian was selected to be a part of All-Fundamentals Team which is a 26-man roster that honor’s the NFL’s most fundamentally-sound players who commit themselves to service their communities.
