Barbara Schett Eagle is a former Austrian tennis player, who reached her highest singles ranking, World No. 7, on 13 September 1999. She ended her career at the 2005 Australian Open. Between 1993 to 2004 she played in 48 games for the Austria Fed Cup team, winning 30. She also represented Austria at the Sydney 2000 Olympics in singles and doubles reaching the quarterfinals in the singles.


Austrian Barbara Schett made headlines in 2001 by defeating Venus Williams in the second round of the French Open, and by reaching the mixed doubles finals (with Joshua Eagle) at that year's Australian Open. Schett began her pro tennis career in 1992. Her greatest success has been in doubles, where she has paired with Anna Kournikova and Anke Huber, among others. Known for her power, "Babsi" ranked 7th in 1999, a career high. In late 2004 she suffered torn ligaments in her right angle, and she retired in 2005 with three career WTA singles titles.

Schett is married to former Australian tennis player Joshua Eagle. On 28 April 2009, Schett gave birth to a son named Noah.
