Aubrayo Franklin has played an instrumental role as a starter on the 49ers defensive line since being signed as an unrestricted free agent from Baltimore in 2007. A stalwart against the run, Franklin started all 16 games at nose tackle in 2009, and played a big role in the run defense holding opponents to 3.6 ypc., good for 3rd in the NFL, while also setting career highs in tackles (88), TFLs (8.5), sacks (2) and INTs (1).

•Sacked QB Brett Favre for a 9-yd. loss in the 3rd. qtr. at Min. (9/27), and contributed to a defensive front that held RB Adrian Peterson to 85 yds. rushing on 18 carries.
•Set a career-high with 10 tackles vs. Atl. (10/11).
•Sacked QB Peyton Manning at Ind. (11/1), marking the first time he had been sacked since Week 2. Also limited RB Joseph Addai to 62 yds. rushing on 20 carries (3.1 avg.), as he was named Defensive POW by Sports Illustrated’s Peter King for his performance.

2006 (Baltimore):
•Saw first action of season at Cle. (9/24) and posted 3 tackles, helping limit offense to 38 yds. rushing.

2005 (Baltimore):
•Established a then career-high 7 tackles in addition to posting his first ca­reer sack at Den. (12/11).
•Made first career start and registered 4 tackles in 48-3 victory vs. GB (12/19).

2004 (Baltimore):
•Played in 6 games and was inactive another 10 contests, posting 7 tackles and 1 PD.

2003 (Baltimore):
•Made NFL debut vs. Den. (10/26) and recorded 1 tackle.
•Allocated to the Frankfurt of NFL Europe and finished the 10-game season with 25 tackles, 3 sacks and 3 PDs as part of Galaxy team that appeared in Championship Game.

COLLEGE:
•Finished 2-year career at Tennessee with 70 tackles and 2 sacks. Became a starter for final 8 games of senior season at DT, recording 56 tackles and 2 sacks. Before going to Tennessee, Franklin was a two-year starter at de­fensive tackle for Itawamba (MS) Community College, where he was named all-state and selected Mississippi’s Most Valuable Defensive Lineman in 2000.
