Anthony Waters life and biography

Anthony D. Waters is an American football linebacker for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft.

NFL CAREER

Waters arrived in New Orleans after spending two seasons with San Diego. He was originally a third-round pick of the Chargers in 2007 out of Clemson, and has appeared in seven games the last two seasons, seeing the majority of his action on special teams...was waived by the Saints then re-signed on December 9, 2009 and played primarily on special teams the last month of the season and during the team's Super Bowl championship run.

2009_ Went to training camp with the Saints but was waived on final cutdowns...was re-signed by the Saints on December 9, 2009 and played primarily on special teams... played extensivbely in season finale at Carolina (1/3)...played on special teams through the playoffs...was inactive for SB XLIV.2008 –Appeared in seven games and recorded three assisted tackles…On special teams, made one tackle and had a fumble recovery…Also appeared in one postseason game and recorded an assisted tackle….Played in his first career game against New England, Dec. 12, seeing action on defense and special teams…Set up San Diego’s first touchdown vs. Atlanta, Nov. 30, by recovering muffed punt. 2007 – Inactive for all 16 games plus all three of team’s postseason contests.

COLLEGE

Sat out almost entire senior season after injuring knee in third quarter of season opener against Florida Atlantic…Honorable mention All-ACC as junior after leading team with 109 tackles (74 solo)…Recipient of team’s Solid Rock Award in 2005, given by coaches to the outstanding linebacker…Won player of the game award three times as a junior…Redshirted in 2002…Graduated in 2006 with degree in sports management.

PERSONAL

Born in Dillon, S.C…Offensive Player of Year and all-state selection as senior at Lake View (Lake View, S.C.) HS…Saw time as prep at LB, RB, DE, WR and P…As senior, scored 27 total touchdowns and led team in rushing, receiving and tackles.
