Alex Curran life and biography

Alex Curran is an English model and fashion columnist for the Daily Mirror. She is the wife of Liverpool and England footballer Steven Gerrard, and is described as one of the leading WAGs (Wives And Girlfriends) of the England national football team along with women such as Victoria Beckham, Coleen McLoughlin and Cheryl Cole - in 2007 the Times referred to Steven Gerrard's fiancee Alex Curran as an "über-WAG".

Curran writes a weekly column for the Mirror entitled "Go Shopping With Alex Curran".

Curran was raised in Maghull, and attended Maghull High School. A former nail technician, Alex Curran and Steven Gerrard have been a couple since 2002. Prior to this, Curran was dating businessman Tony Richardson - at the time Steven Gerrard was dating Jennifer Ellison. At some point in 2002, Curran and Ellison switched - The Guardian said "who stole whom off whom is still the subject of some debate and perhaps Ellison's autobiography".

Curran and Gerrard have two daughters - Lilly-Ella (born February 2004) and Lexie (born 9 May 2006). the two now live in Formby, Merseyside, and married on June 16 2007, at the Cliveden House luxury hotel in Berkshire

On 8 August 2006, Curran was arrested on suspicion of assault by Merseyside police over an alleged assault following a fight at the Shangri-La restaurant in Liverpool city center. A teen aged girl, who was also from Maghull, was struck in the face by a glass bottle. Curran was released on bail until November. The charges were later dropped.

Curran was involved in disagreement with singer Jamelia (also a WAG thanks to her engagement to footballer Darren Byfield). Jamelia described all footballers wives as 'leeches', stating "God forbid if Alex Curran split up with Steve Gerrard. Who would she be then?". Curran responded in an interview with OK! magazine stating "She'll be glad to know I don't know her boyfriend's name but Steven (Gerrard) thinks he's lower than a non-league player".

Curran has also upset animal rights supporters for her propensity for having snakeskin handbags.
