Alex Brown (American Football) life and biography

Alex Brown (born June 4, 1979 in Jasper, Florida) is an American football defensive end for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the fourth round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He played college football at Florida.

NFL CAREER

– A consistent performer and the model of durability, Brown comes to New Orleans having played in 127 consecutive games – and starting 107 of them – in eight seasons with the Chicago Bears. Renowned for his run-stopping ability, the former 2002 fourth-round draft choice has also proven himself as an accomplished pass-rusher, recording 43½ sacks, notching six or more in five separate seasons. The former University of Florida standout has notched 483 career tackles (291 solo) along with five interceptions, 28 pass defenses, 16 forced fumbles and 11 fumble recoveries. Brown was signed as a free agent in the offseason and is expected to compete for the starting spot opposite Will Smith on the defensive front, also bringing postseason experience with four playoff starts where he has tallied 14 tackles and a sack.
