Alex Boone (born May 4, 1987 in Lakewood, Ohio) is an offensive tackle for the San Francisco 49ers. He played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes. A four-year starter for the Buckeyes (2005-08), Boone was a two-time All Big Ten selection (2nd team in 2007, 1st team in '08). In his four years, the Buckeyes were 41-8 and captured four Big Ten titles and played in four BCS Bowl appearances including back-to-back National Championship games (2006 & '07). Boone went undrafted in the 2009 NFL Draft, at least partially due to concerns about alcohol abuse.

A physical tackle, Alex Boone signed as a rookie free agent in 2009 and spent the season on the 49ers practice squad.
